 smile  I have been banned from this board through most of covid- which was really shocking and tough for me.

Our local face to face group meets tomorrow evening in Queenstown 6 pm NZ time. [Thor'sday]

Dafydd. You are safe here and you are not gonna be banned.  I dont ban anybody that is kind and treats others with respect and even if somebody does go over the guard rails, I will message them and sort it out with them. Banning is the last resort and I dont see that happening to you on my watch. and I appreciate you helping greet Paul and give him references and stuff. Paul were here and we are listening and we hear ya.

As far as the disassociation is concerned, what happens is the mind leaves the body because it doesnt feel safe in the body as a child sex abuse survivor my mind literally shut down and left my body and I had a hell of a time trying to get it back to its home but my body was a crime scene for so long my mind was just lost literally in thought and then thoughts were unhealthy

I do mindful exercises now and I do embodiment exercises now which essentially are the same thing where are you get in a comfortable place and you focus on your breath and it may you may only be able to do it for a couple of minutes but then as you get more and more practice you can do it more and more and you look around and you go what do I see? What do I hear? What do I smell? How do I feel? And youre silently asking yourself these questions and as you like say you see a dog. You know the size of the animal you know does it have long hair or short hair and you just notice it and notice details about it the mind cannot be scared or tormented by screwed up thoughts if the mind is busy in the body in the five senses and focusing on the breath and when the mind does wander, you just gently say OK come on back its OK come on back and you get back into your body and you focus on your breath focus on your belly going up and down or the air going through your nose. Ive been doing this for a few months now well maybe three months and I can see a big difference. Im not rushing as much as I used to I dont obsess as bad as I used to I dont judge as bad as I used to I dont dissociate as much as I used to, everything is calming down. I still have a long way to go but boy I can see a difference in already so hang in there and post as much as you feel like it and the main board is just chock-full of good stuff to work to help you
