Yellow book sponsor (w' ADHD)?

Hi guys,

So I am amazed at how much the ACA traits, stories i've been reading/hearing resonates with me.

After 9 days of listening, I started going over the Yellow workbook. It recommends finding a sponsor. I believe that an ACA sponsor with ADHD whose first 12-step was ACA would be best suited to understand me...

How would I even start looking for a sponsor with those criteria?

Thank you,

Female in her 40's

Welcome to MIP, Chi!!

Here we are all Fellow Travelers.  We walk together on our recovery journeys.

If you find someone you relate to, you could ask them for sponsorship.

Check out our Main Page (see link in upper left), where all the good stuff happens!

welcome Chi....Great stuff on the main page....and yea, finding a sponsor can be kinda hard if not fac2fac, but it CAN happen...when i first got into recovery, I surfed the posts, got familiar with the regulars, the ones who seemed to be doing OK and I asked one to be my sponsor....Don't feel bad if you get turned down...some folks don't have the time right now, or they have other issues and can't spare the energy, but keep looking and you shall find

Appreciate your comments -

Do I understand that I should be less specific with my 'requirements'?  Attend meetings and hopefully I'll click/connect with someone there ....

Attending meetings is not easy nowadays; most are online due to the virus.  The ACA World Service Organization has a list of online meetings at https://adultchildren.org/quick-search/.

I'd attend a few meetings and get to know people.  Usually it's recommended to find a same-sex sponsor (assuming heterosexuality).

Hope this helps....
