Spending too much money

Irritated with myself. Difficult for me to spend money on myself anyway. Tend to feel it should only be on 'jobs needed doing,' responsibilities, others, etc.

I am stingy with myself.

I raise my hand in recognition of myself. I'm not sure I see this as an inherently bad trait. However, I believe loving yourself may include spending a bit on yourself, even if that means repairing a roof! It need doing, and it makes me feel good....weird huh.

I can fritter away five dollars here and there but if it's fifty bucks for therapy or a massage I tend to procrastinate.Good self care I'm not good at.It would make me feel good yet I procrastinate.I think the frittering away the money is a form of self sabotage for me.I buy gift cards for myself. If Thers a large purchase like a guitar or runners or fishing things I'll buy a gift card at the store I want it from until I have enough.I need to stop the impulsive five dollar spending.Gotten into debt over it years ago now still trying to get out.I have a fear of not having enough money.

Sounds like a good plan Chris. Save for the real treats only, I like the gift card idea, quite clever. I understand frittering and no doubt it's unconscious sabotage for me too. I'll do it not even thinking when I'm full of anxiety, usually I am pretty restrained from habit over the years, but lately I'm reneging on myself and my usual self discipline. . Might be an attempt to self soothe in the moment.
